REPORT ON THE 33RD YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE CHURCH OF GOD IN THE PHILIPPINES By Bro. Manny P. Yangco

The Church of God in the Philippines has just celebrated the 33rd Year Anniversary of God's works in the Philippines on July 8, 2007 with this year's theme: "A Praying Church is a Powerful Church".


The whole-day celebration took place at the newly-renovated chapel in Paniqui where more than 300 brethren from different congregations in Luzon Island gathered together in one spirit for the Thanksgiving service.

We are very thankful to God for the sweet fellowship we had on this occasion for we felt the love of God and His family. It was like a National Convention of the Church of God in the Philippines because all congregations were represented except those in Negros and Mindanao.

Our Anniversary Service started with a Sunday School led by Bro. Arnold Chichioco. After the Sunday School, Sis. Judith Batalla gave a detailed recount of the History of the Church of God in the Philippines which was started by Bro. Victoriano T. Luzong, his family and few brethren who came out from the bondage of sectism.

We are thankful to these brethren for their effort and love in sowing the seed of the Gospel just to see saved from their sins.

Equally inspiring to our souls was the message delivered by Jet Batalla during the worship service which he entitled "Believing the Light" from John 12:35-36. Seven souls came to the altar. The morning service ended at 12 noon.

After a satisfying meal, a congratulatory notes and special songs were rendered by brethren from different congregations. It was then followed by an afternoon service. Bro. Antonio Dumrique, Pastor from Barang, Paniuqi Congregation was the preacher. He challenged the saints to be prayerful in this trying times. He entitled his thought "Give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word". (Acts 6:1-4) The message truly blessed the church as everybody kneeled down after the message and in one accord pray earnestly to God to bless and edify His church in the Philippines.

1ST CYF ANNIVERSARY STA. MARIA, BULACAN

Dear Bro.Jet,

Holy greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus and Savior. It's a great privilege for me to give you report regarding the 1st CYF Anniversary in Sta. Maria. Ito po'y ipinagdiwang namin noong May 27, 2007. Lubos na pinagpala ng Dios ang gawaing ito.

Ito po ay dinaluhan din ng mga kabataan mula sa Metro Manila. Sa panimula po ng gawain ay umawit muna kami ng choruses sa pangunguna ni Sis. Christel. After po nun ay nagkaroon kami ng mga Bible Activities na pinangunahan ni Bro.Bob na siyang tumatayong leader ng CYF Bulacan. Ang mga activities po namin ay Bible ; Drill, Hunt, Name the Tune (ito po ang isa mga bagong activity na ginagawa namin sa Sta.Maria na kung saan ay huhulaan ng 2 magkatunggali ang title ng awit na tutugtugin sa piano, kasama pa dito ang Bible Guesting (dito po ay may character na nasa Biblia ang isusulat sa board na hindi nakikita ng huhula pero nakikita ng mga audience; dito po ay kailangan na mag-isip mabuti ng mga category ang huhula at sasagutin ng audience kung ito po'y malapit sa criteria na pinahuhulaan hanggang sa masagot niya ito base sa iniisip nya or kung hindi ay talo na siya). Nagbigay ng hamon ang mga Christian Mother at Father ng hamon para sa bawat isa. Gayon din po ay naghandog ng awit ang CYF Sta. Maria at Manila. Nagbigay din ng patotoo ang bagong tanggap na kabataan na si Sis. May. Ang aming po tema ay "Christian Youth be an Example".ang aming mensahero ay isa ring kabataan na Ministro si Sis. Armela. Na kung saan ay nagbigay inspirasyon sa bawat isa na magpatuloy at maging halimbawa kami bilang mga kabataang Cristiano na hiwalay sa gawa ng sanlibutan at higit sa lahat ay maglingkod ng tapat sa Dios hanggang wakas. Nawa po ay maging pagpapala ito sa bawat Cristiano. God Bless You.
